    Don’t try to bulk up when doing extensive cardio training or preparing for a marathon. Although cardio is important for your overall fitness, large amounts of it can negatively impact strength training attempts. If your focus is to build muscle, concentrate on strength-training.

    It is possible to make yourself look larger than your actual size. This is accomplished by focusing your attention on developing your upper chest, shoulders and upper back. This makes your upper body look bigger in proportion to your waist, which gives the illusion that you have a larger body.

For example, during plyometric push-ups, you would pull your hands off the floor and lift your body as high as possible.
